The European Commission’s I3 Instrument Support Facility reported that SmartVitiNet had demonstrated integrated precision-viticulture technology through five events in four countries. The project combines drone operations, sensors, AI and decision-support functions with supporting equipment and training resources. Demonstrations took place in operational vineyards with different growing conditions.

One reported application used hyperspectral imagery and neural networks to identify water stress before visible symptoms during validation in Greece and Portugal. A competence centre and training portal were also established. These activities document demonstration and validation work; they do not by themselves establish the costs or repeatable benefits of adopting the complete system at every vineyard.
