IFOAM Organics Europe reported on the IoF2020 final event held online from 16 to 18 March 2021. The meeting reviewed the project’s 33 use cases and considered how connected technologies could support different farming and food-production activities.

One contribution from ARVALIS described precision wheat management using sensor data carried through a low-power, long-range communications infrastructure. The programme also treated organic agriculture as a setting in which technologies should be adapted to farmers’ requirements and production principles. More than 900 people registered for the event, according to the organiser’s account. The story is a retrospective of a research and demonstration programme, not an announcement of an upcoming conference or proof that all tested approaches had reached commercial maturity.
