GreenTech’s 11 June 2025 press release reported that SAIA Agrobotics had won the Robot Challenge during the opening day of the Amsterdam exhibition. The award was selected by an expert jury chaired by Erik Pekkeriet. The announcement recognised the company’s approach while placing it within a wider discussion of greenhouse technology.
The remaining programme included optical and imaging systems, future greenhouse design, carbon-dioxide sourcing, laser-based pest control and autonomous water management. Researchers and industry speakers therefore considered several interacting parts of cultivation, rather than treating robotic handling as an isolated machine purchase. The source reports an exhibition award and programme; it does not provide an independent commercial throughput trial or a universal estimate of labour savings.
