DJI introduced the Mavic 3 Multispectral on 23 November 2022. The aircraft paired a 20-megapixel RGB camera with four multispectral cameras measuring green, red, red-edge and near-infrared bands. The company positioned that combination for crop monitoring and agricultural mapping.

An RTK module synchronized positioning with image capture, while the compact folding platform was designed to make survey work easier to transport between fields. DJI also described integration options for cloud platforms and third-party software, supporting workflows beyond simply viewing photographs. Its announcement linked the imagery to vegetation indices and more localized crop assessment. The hardware launch did not establish that a spectral map alone could diagnose a specific nutrient deficiency or disease; converting reflected-light measurements into a reliable management decision still requires agronomic interpretation and field verification.
