Innovation Fund Denmark announced support for OdinsAEye on 6 July, a three-year project led by Aarhus University. The DKK 12.8 million programme runs from February 2026 to February 2029 and includes DKK 8.3 million in fund investment.

Partners plan to develop CropCareCam units that collect high-resolution imagery from tractors and implements during ordinary field operations. AI will identify weeds and turn observations into practical treatment recommendations within farmers’ existing management systems. Follow-up observations are intended to evaluate treatment effects.

The consortium includes Aarhus University, AG Precision, I-GIS, AI Lab, PerPlant and the Sigridshøj farm. Its stated ambition is to cut herbicide use by at least 40 percent without compromising farm economics. That figure is a project target, not a demonstrated result. Field testing is intended to address mud, variable weather and the demands of a busy farming season.
