CropX added Apex to its soil-sensor range in April 2026. The device offers 12-, 24- and 36-inch configurations, measuring volumetric water content, temperature and electrical conductivity at four-inch intervals through the soil profile.
Apex connects to CropX telemetry through the SDI-12 interface and supplies data to the company’s agronomy platform. The manufacturer described using the profile to support moisture-status analysis, irrigation decisions and leaching detection, particularly where deeper or finer-resolution monitoring is needed. CropX reported comparisons with laboratory-measured undisturbed samples during field validation and planned further deployment across soils and crops. These are company-reported validation claims.
