Amazon Web Services reported in November 2023 that Malaysian drone-services company Aerodyne was operating its DRONOS platform on AWS. Its agricultural offering, Agrimor, combined drone-based seeding, spraying, mapping and plant analysis within a broader data-management workflow.
The announcement described a data lake that brought together drone imagery, satellite information, agriculture data and weather observations. Machine-learning tools supported analysis of farm fields, while Agrimor users in Malaysia and Indonesia ranged from individual farmers to palm-oil plantation businesses. AWS and Aerodyne positioned the system as a way to identify issues such as insufficient irrigation or disease and support more targeted input application. The release also outlined planned expansion into additional countries. It was a company partnership announcement; its reported productivity benefits should not be interpreted as independently measured results for every farm.
