Yanmar Vineyard Solutions described its collaboration with Moët & Chandon in a release dated 30 April 2024. The partnership began in 2019 with specifications for a machine able to work on demanding vineyard plots, including steep and lateral slopes.
The company reported that an initial YV01 prototype was introduced in 2021 and that two machines underwent extensive trials with Moët & Chandon in early 2022. Staff training accompanied those trials. By the end of that year, the winegrower had indicated its intention to use the robot on difficult plots in Aÿ and Cramant. Yanmar also reported that a weeding tool developed through the partnership had been offered for sale from January 2024. The account documents an iterative grower–manufacturer development process; performance statements remain those reported by the partners.
