In December 2023, Agência FAPESP described Semear Digital’s expansion into ten municipalities across Brazil. Coordinated by EMBRAPA Digital Agriculture, the programme used Agricultural Technological Districts as settings for research and practical technology adaptation.

The approach combined socio-economic diagnosis, improved connectivity and training with the needs of local production chains. Partners included universities, agricultural research organisations and telecommunications specialists, working with growers, associations and cooperatives. Existing pilots in São Paulo informed the wider programme. The source described the potential to reach up to 14,000 small and medium rural properties; that was an intended reach, not a verified count of farms already benefiting. The initiative illustrates how digital farming projects can address infrastructure and institutional support alongside the tools themselves.
