Kubota displayed a concept tractor in Kyoto on 15–16 January 2020 to mark the company’s 130th anniversary. The announcement described an electric, autonomous machine intended to illustrate a possible direction for future agriculture rather than announce a production model.
Its four crawler units were individually driven, and the concept could change its ground clearance and contact geometry for different tasks. Kubota proposed lowering the machine for traction-oriented work and increasing clearance when operating above crops. The company also outlined the use of weather and crop-growth information for operational decisions and the sharing of field data between machines. Batteries and solar power formed part of the electrification concept. The source is a useful historical design milestone, but its presentation did not establish commercial availability or independently validated field endurance.
