The Agricultural Industry Electronics Foundation published a review on 18 December 2024 of FIRA USA, held in Woodland, California, on 22–24 October. AEF reported more than 80 exhibitors and over 2,500 attendees across exhibition, discussion and field-demonstration areas.

Its chairman Andrew Olliver joined a panel on standards and autonomy with representatives from AEM, Topcon and John Deere. The discussion considered how standards are created, interpreted and implemented, and how they support autonomous operations in the field. The event brought together growers, dealers, equipment manufacturers, start-ups, investors and regulators. The report is a useful reminder that adoption depends on the wider equipment and service ecosystem, not just whether one vehicle can complete a route without an onboard driver.
