Dryland Congress 2026 concluded in New Delhi on 12 September with adoption of the Delhi Declaration on Drylands. Organized by ICAR and ICRISAT, the three-day event brought research, policy and development partners together around South–South cooperation.
ICRISAT’s closing report describes discussions involving national agricultural research systems from Ethiopia, Senegal, Brazil, China and India. The declaration calls for stronger knowledge exchange, capacity sharing and partnerships to accelerate resilient dryland agriculture.
The congress also recognized agricultural innovations through the ISSCA Global Awards. Digital agriculture awards went to the APMIP Digital Ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh and Krushi Pragati in Gujarat. These awards and the declaration indicate recognition and shared priorities; the report does not provide a common independent performance comparison of the named technologies.
