Solinftec announced its Solix Sprayer robot on 30 August 2022, expanding a platform previously presented for field scouting. The Brazil-founded company described a manufacturing partnership with McKinney Corporation and planned commercial availability in 2023 for growers, cooperatives and agricultural retailers.
The design used solar panels to support its drive and spray systems and combined targeted application with field-data collection. Solinftec described weed maps and additional crop-observation layers connected to its ALICE software platform. North American pilot partners included GROWMARK, Purdue University, Stone Farms and the University of Saskatchewan. The announcement is an early milestone in the Solix story, separate from later robot-family updates: it documents the move from observing a field to taking a specific management action within it.
