FarmWise launched its Vulcan weeding implement on 14 February 2023 at World Ag Expo in Tulare, California. The machine placed computer vision and learned crop recognition into a tractor-pulled cultivator, aiming to remove weeds both between rows and within the crop line. The company said the design incorporated experience from its earlier commercial weeding service.
Two configurations were announced: single-bed and triple-bed machines, with support for different numbers of crop lines. FarmWise also described remote monitoring and technical support for customers. Pre-orders opened with deliveries planned for the third quarter of 2023. The announcement concerned automation of the weeding operation; it did not require the pulling tractor to be driverless or establish that manual follow-up would disappear in every field.
