Bayer announced a pilot generative-AI system designed to answer questions about agronomy, farm management and its agricultural products. The company said the system drew on internal information, trial insights and agronomists’ knowledge rather than relying only on general-purpose public data.
At the announcement, the pilot was being used by Bayer teams in the United States and validated by agronomists. Microsoft and EY were named as development partners. Bayer intended to expand testing to selected advisers and potentially farmers, while exploring integration into digital offerings. Wider availability and benefits for smallholders were future ambitions, not confirmed outcomes of the initial pilot.
