Around 50 participants from research and farming attended the SQAT field day at ATB’s Potsdam Fieldlab on 1 October 2026. ATB’s report, published on 9 October, described a demonstration of technologies being developed for high-resolution soil mapping.

The sequence began with satellite-based assessment of soil variability and planning of the measurement campaign. It then moved through autonomous mapping using near-infrared spectroscopy, soil sampling and analysis beside the field. The aim is to provide useful soil information more quickly and economically for precision farming.

ATB said the systems would undergo further optimisation after this demonstration to invited specialists. The event also introduced HASHTAG, a project concerned with the accuracy, trustworthiness and traceability of agricultural data workflows.
