Agri-OpenCore completed in September 2026 after three and a half years, according to a project update published on 15 October. Funded by Innovate UK, it brought together APS Group, the University of Lincoln, Dogtooth Technologies and Extend Robotics to help developers reuse essential capabilities when building agricultural harvesting robots.

Reported outputs include open ROS 2 software components, deployment containers, fleet navigation and runtime safety monitoring. Digital twins cover strawberry, tomato and packhouse environments. The consortium also worked on standards and human–robot safety. Its work continues through several routes: navigation technology licensed to university spinout JABAS.AI, open components adopted by other developers, and the HARVEST Robot Adoption Hub.
