What is being modeled?
01 · Detect & decide

Targets are known exactly in this demonstration; there is no image recognition or detection uncertainty. Five nozzle footprints cover a 1.88 m band. Spot mode uses a 0.24 s valve pulse when an untreated weed enters a nozzle footprint.

The crop guard is the radius around each crop plant. A nozzle is inhibited if its 0.22 m footprint intersects that guard.

02 · Move & apply

The robot follows a prescribed serpentine route with 1.4 m headland turns. Turn speed is limited to 0.6 m/s. This is an ideal trajectory, not a tested navigation controller.

Each open valve uses 0.012 L/s. A target is marked treated after accumulating 1.44 mL-equivalent of modeled nozzle exposure while within its footprint. This exposure index integrates nozzle flow while a target is inside the footprint; it does not estimate deposited liquid per plant. The threshold is illustrative, not an agronomic dose recommendation.

03 · Measure & compare

Liquid used = Σ valve flow × open time. The reference is 0.060 L/s × row traversal time, before the crop guard. Savings describe this modeled run, including guard shutoffs; they do not predict field performance.

CSV contains actual time samples and final target states. The displayed spray cones, valve indicators and footprints follow the same simulated valve state used for liquid accounting. Map JSON uses a local meter frame with origin at the plot’s upper-left corner, +x right, +y down. It is deliberately not labeled geographic GeoJSON.
