EXPLORE SELECTIVE MOWING

A small robot. A precise task.

Eight 30 cm living-mulch lanes alternate with 15 cm barley strips. The rover follows each mulch lane and turns only in the clear headlands.

  1. 01
Start the operationChoose speed and remaining cover height, then Start mowing. The 1× button changes playback speed without changing the robot’s physical speed setting.
  2. 02
Inspect the real 3D sceneSwitch between Field, Rover, Cutter and Overhead. The small live machine view reveals the cutter. See through crop is an inspection view, not a sensor image.
  3. 03
Challenge the robotPlace a stone or reduce position confidence. The robot stops when its corridor is blocked or clearance budget is exceeded. Clear the condition, then explicitly resume.
  4. 04
Read the result correctly100% planned coverage means the central 28 cm swaths are finished. It corresponds to 93.3% of the 30 cm mulch lanes; 1 cm edge buffers remain. Crop strips and headlands are excluded.
Space pauses/resumes. E latches the emergency stop. Release → reset interlock → Resume. Reset clears the field and current operation log.
WHY THE TASK MATTERS

Manage living cover deliberately.

1

Keep access selective

A narrow rover can target the planted cover strips while keeping its wheels and cutting head outside the crop strips. This demo shows that geometry and the headland route explicitly.

2

Manage competition

Living mulch can compete with the cash crop for light, water and nutrients. Mechanical suppression is one management option; timing, species and moisture conditions matter.

3

Retain cover, measure outcomes

The demonstration leaves a short cover instead of exposing the entire lane. It measures where mowing occurred. Effects on weeds, soil, resource use and yield require field measurements.

The barley layout and cutting settings are illustrative design choices, not a crop-management prescription or validated commercial robot specification.
ADAPTIVE AGROTECH

Precision Mowing

A rebuilt 3D version of the supplied autonomous mower concept. Dimensions, vegetation, coverage and headland manoeuvres share the same metre-based geometry. Cutting is deterministic and tied to the swept cutter footprint.

The body is 25 cm wide and the cutter is 28 cm wide in a 30 cm lane. A 10 mm nominal edge margin is demanding; the demo’s positioning budget is illustrative. This is an educational simulation, not a controller or a certified safety system.

Scene assets

The rover, tyres, cutter, guards, sensors, barley, living-mulch vegetation,
clippings, soil and field environment are procedural 3D assets authored for
this application. The robot is an illustrative concept, not an exact replica
of a commercial machine. The supplied 2D mower demo informed the application
concept. No third-party robot CAD, stock imagery, remote font or remotely
hosted texture is required.

The application is an independent educational simulation. It does not connect
to hardware, predict crop yields or implement a certified safety system.
