From idea to printable part

A quick guide to Part Studio Pro

Your design workflow

  1. Browse the shape library. Search the visual catalogue or filter by category, then choose a template. Every template is an editable starting point; its dimensions are not a verified fit for a particular device.
  2. Set dimensions and build up features. All dimensions are in millimeters. Adjust the base shape, then add solids, pockets, bosses, or vent patterns. Use the outline editor or radius–height profile when those controls are available for the design family.
  3. Update and inspect. Orbit the model, check the mesh, and use the visual section to inspect internal geometry. Inspect any warnings before exporting.
  4. Save and export. Save a JSON project for later editing, then export STL or OBJ. Open the mesh in your slicer using millimeters; select material, orientation, infill, and supports.

Enclosures & lids

Corner radius defines the rounded footprint; enclosure walls remain vertical. Wall and floor dimensions define the cavity. Preview and export the body and lid separately. Lid clearance depends on your printer and material, so print a small fit test first.

Custom curved outlines

Drag outline points to change the top-view shape, or edit their coordinates for precision. Keep a simple closed outline without crossing edges. Extrusion adds height. Top scale and twist apply only to solid extrusions; curved panels and revolved profiles use dedicated controls.

Holes & slots

Choose X, Y, or Z to define the cut direction. These features pass through the whole part, including both opposing walls; they are not blind pockets. Position is measured in the plane perpendicular to the chosen axis.

The feature stack

Features modify the base part in sequence. Added solids can build up mounting tabs and other geometry; cut features remove material. Select a feature to edit its size, position, and available options. Reordering features can change the result. Confirm that additions overlap the main body when you need one connected print.

Templates are starting points

Template names describe a design idea, not a certified hardware fit. Measure your real board, motor, sensor, fastener, or robot frame and verify hole spacing, clearance, wall thickness, and loading before printing. Save your customized project to preserve the base parameters and feature stack.

What the geometry report tells you

Dimensions describe the exported bounding box. Solid volume describes the mesh, not a slicer's filament estimate. Separate components may need different placement in your slicer. A visual section is an inspection view and does not trim the exported model.

Keep the editable project

STL and OBJ contain a finished mesh. Save the JSON project to reopen and adjust the design parameters. Your designs are processed locally in this page.

Know the limits. This workspace supports the included parametric part families and feature operations. It does not import STEP or STL models, edit arbitrary meshes, or replace a general CAD system. A watertight mesh is not a mechanical validation: check strength, wall thickness, clearances, overhangs, and printability before use.
